What is a donation match?
Many employers offer a matching gifts program, but oftentimes employees do not know the matching gifts program exists. Matching gift programs are offered by employers as a way of supporting their employees’ generous philanthropy. Some companies will match their employees gifts at a 1:1 ratio. For example, when you make a $100 donation, your employer would match your donation with $100, doubling the impact of your donation to Nuru! Some employers will match as high as a 4:1 ration, meaning that a $100 donation becomes a $500!

How do matching gifts work?
Once you’ve determined that your company has a matching gifts program, follow your employer’s guidelines for submitting your donation receipt for a matching gift. If you don’t see your employer in the dropdown menu above, ask your HR department if your company offers a matching gifts program. If your company does offer a match, you will still be able to submit any necessary paperwork along with your donation receipt. Then, your company will send its matching gift to Nuru!
