CHICAGO—From November 9-14, American Evaluation Association (AEA) is hosting its annual conference at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, IL. The 2015 theme is “Exemplary Evaluations in a Multicultural World.” According to AEA, “Participants will have the opportunity to learn about exemplary evaluations, enabling evaluation environments, evaluation policies, evaluation theories and methods, and research on evaluation from a range of cultures and regions throughout the world.” With over 7,000 current members, the AEA conference marks a major opportunity for sector collaboration and networking.

Kristin Lindell, Monitoring and Evaluation Strategic Advisor, will represent Nuru International at this year’s event.

“On Friday, I’ll be participating in a panel focusing on multidimensional poverty,” says Lindell. “During the presentation, I’ll discuss Nuru’s poverty measurement strategy and be joined by Dr. Heath Prince from the Ray Marshall Center and Tricia Petruney from FHI 360, with Veronica Olazabal from Rockefeller Foundation serving as the panel moderator. I’ll touch on lessons that Nuru has learned in regards to how to measure poverty, one of which relates to the importance of selecting a poverty measurement tool that aligns with Nuru’s theory of change. On both a personal and professional level, I’m really looking forward to learning from my peers and professional role models about best practices, challenges and lessons learned in the evaluation space.”
